This is my own recipe. I make this once a week on my baking day. I have it every morning with my coffee. It is also great as a snack or not-too-sweet dessert.
A super simple dish kids can enjoy making and eating!
Here is a chocolate dessert that is super fast and simple without all the chemicals, food coloring and other unnecessary ingredients you’ll find in packaged pudding mixes.
You will need:
- A large container of natural/organic vanilla yogurt
- 2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- A large bowl (with a lid if you have it)
- A wire whisk
Dump the yogurt into the bowl and stir it up with the whisk a bit. Sprinkle the cocoa powder over the yogurt slowly while whisking constantly. Whisk in the cinnamon. Cover and refrigerate a couple of hours if you have the time. Note that, if you do not have a lid for your bowl and you try to put the yogurt back in the original container, it will not fit! You will have to eat one serving right away, if this is the case! (Or you could leave a generous amount in the bowl and lick the bowl!)
You can serve this immediately; however, it is much better if you refrigerate it for a couple of hours. It will thicken up and have a mousse-like consistency. It really makes a very elegant dessert that is delicious served with whipped cream, strawberries and shaved chocolate.
Of course, we all know that yogurt is very healthy. Be sure to whisk gently so that you do not kill off the live acidophilus in the yogurt. If you wish, you can also open an acidophilus capsule and whisk it gently into the mix. Pure cocoa powder also has very beneficial health qualities. It is an antioxidant and it helps us process iron. Cinnamon is an aid to digestion and is beneficial to the circulatory system.

Oh my goodness! I love yogurt and was just telling my s/o this week, that I don't know what else to add to have more variety with healthy snacks, as we now eat much healthier now. I am going to try this!
Thank you for your comments in my hub about hidden veggies in foods. I didn't see your comments until tonight. I seem to keep missing emails announcing that I have comments in my hubs. Have a very Happy New Year! :)
